What is the Amazon haul-away service?
Amazon groups this service with its large-item options; its customer service section has a page titled Installation, Assembly, and Haul-Away Services. The idea is simple: when the crew brings a new large item, it can take the old one with it, so you are not left arranging bulk pickup yourself.
Two things decide whether you can use it. First, the product: haul-away is offered on certain listings, not on everything. For TVs and major appliances, haul-away depends on the product and the seller. When Amazon expanded white-glove delivery in 2018, the trade magazine TWICE reported that shippers “may haul away the old unit (depending on the product)” for select big-screen TVs sold by Amazon, and that delivery, unboxing, basic hook-up, installation parts and haul-away were complimentary for major appliances sold by Amazon. That was the 2018 set-up; today’s terms vary by listing and area, so read the delivery and service options on the product page and confirm the price in your cart.
