Amazon Haul sells new, low-cost items capped at $20, shipped slowly with a 15-day return window. Amazon Outlet sells new overstock and clearance stock, often from known brands, with no price cap. Woot is an Amazon subsidiary running short-lived daily deals, and Amazon Resale (formerly Amazon Warehouse) sells inspected used and open-box items. Pick by what you are buying.
Key takeaways
- Haul: new budget goods, every item $20 or less, free shipping at $25, typical delivery one to two weeks, free returns within 15 days on items over $3.
- Amazon Outlet: brand-new overstock and seasonal clearance; shipping and returns follow each listing.
- Woot: an independent Amazon subsidiary with limited-time deals; Prime members get free standard shipping; most items returnable within 30 days of delivery.
- Amazon Resale: used, open-box and returned items graded from Like New to Acceptable, with the same return option as other Amazon purchases.
Last checked November 2026. No rule changes since our last review: Haul’s terms match Amazon’s June 2026 Haul post, and Resale still uses the name Amazon adopted in 2024 in place of Amazon Warehouse. Check each listing before you buy, because Outlet and Resale terms are set per item.

Amazon Haul vs Amazon Outlet
These are the two most often confused, because both sound like “cheap Amazon.” They are built on different stock. Amazon Outlet is where overstock goes when inventory needs clearing: ConsumerAffairs described it in May 2026 as brand-new seasonal clearance and overstock, often from big brands, with discounts it said often reach 70% off. You find it by searching “Amazon Outlet” or through Today’s Deals, and the items are ordinary Amazon listings, so their shipping speed and return terms are whatever each listing shows.
Haul is a separate storefront of low-cost goods rather than discounted brand stock. Every item is $20 or less, most are under $10, and Haul has its own cart, its own $25 free-shipping line and a shorter 15-day return window. CNBC reported in December 2024 that Haul items were primarily shipped directly from China, which is why Amazon quotes one to two weeks for delivery.
Use Outlet for a discounted version of a specific branded product you would buy anyway; use Haul for a basket of inexpensive odds and ends. If you are looking for Haul’s own markdowns rather than Outlet’s, see Amazon Haul clearance. For Haul against the whole main store, not just Outlet, our Amazon Haul vs Amazon comparison is the better page.
Amazon Haul vs Woot
Woot describes itself as an independent subsidiary of Amazon that runs multiple daily deals and other short-term sales across seven categories. Its model is urgency: once a Woot deal expires or sells out, it is gone. You sign in with your Amazon account, and Prime members get free standard shipping on Woot orders when they do.
Returns are the bigger contrast. Woot says most purchases can be returned within 30 days of delivery for a full refund, but for items that are not damaged or defective it deducts the prepaid cost of return shipping from the refund. Haul gives only 15 days, but returns of eligible items over $3 are free. Haul is mostly a standing catalog rather than a countdown. Prime matters on Woot and not on Haul, where the rules are identical for members and non-members, as explained on is Amazon Haul part of Prime.
Amazon Haul vs Amazon Resale (formerly Amazon Warehouse)
Amazon renamed its used-goods store from Amazon Warehouse to Amazon Resale in 2024. It sells used, pre-owned and open-box products, many of them customer returns, after Amazon inspects each one and assigns a grade: Like New, Very Good, Good or Acceptable. At the rebrand, Amazon said customers had saved 25% on average on Resale purchases the previous year. Kiplinger’s October 2026 guide says Resale items carry the same return option and delivery promises as other Amazon purchases, typically two days for Prime members.
That makes Resale the right place for higher-value items, such as a lightly used kitchen appliance or an open-box Amazon device, where a discount on a known product beats a new no-name one. Haul, by contrast, sells only new items, but nothing over $20 and nothing with Prime speed. If you want to understand why Haul’s new goods can be cheaper than a used branded item, see why Amazon Haul is so cheap.
Which one should you use?
- Amazon Haul for many small, new, low-stakes items when you can wait about two weeks and build a $25 basket. Start with what Amazon Haul is if you are new.
- Amazon Outlet for new branded products at clearance prices, with normal Amazon shipping on the listing.
- Woot for time-limited deals, especially if you have Prime for free shipping and can accept paying return postage on change-of-mind returns.
- Amazon Resale for discounted used or open-box versions of more expensive items, with Amazon’s usual returns.
For low-priced goods specifically, return rules often decide it. Haul’s 15-day window and $3 final-sale line are stricter than the others, so read our Amazon Haul return policy before a big order, and allow for Haul delivery times if a date matters. Haul also takes an automatic 5% or 10% off larger baskets, as explained on Amazon Haul discounts. More head-to-heads, including Temu and Shein, are on our Amazon Haul comparison hub.

Amazon Haul Vs Amazon Outlet: FAQ
What is the difference between Amazon Haul and Amazon Outlet?
Amazon Haul is a separate storefront of new, low-cost goods capped at $20 per item, with its own cart, free shipping at $25, one-to-two-week delivery and 15-day returns. Amazon Outlet is a section of regular Amazon for new overstock and seasonal clearance, often from known brands, with no price cap. Outlet items are standard listings, so shipping and returns follow each listing.
Is Woot owned by Amazon?
Yes. Woot’s own FAQ calls it an independent subsidiary of Amazon. You log in with your Amazon account, and Prime members get free standard shipping on Woot orders when signed in. Woot runs daily deals and short-term sales across seven categories, and once a deal expires or sells out it does not come back, unlike Haul’s standing catalog.
Is Amazon Warehouse now Amazon Resale?
Yes. Amazon renamed Amazon Warehouse to Amazon Resale in 2024. It sells used, pre-owned and open-box products, many of them returns, after Amazon inspects each item and grades it Like New, Very Good, Good or Acceptable. Resale purchases carry the same return option as other Amazon orders, which makes it very different from Haul’s new, under-$20 goods.
Which has better returns: Haul, Outlet, Woot or Resale?
Haul is the strictest: 15 days from delivery, free only on eligible items over $3, with items $3 or less final sale. Woot allows most returns within 30 days of delivery but deducts return shipping on non-defective items. Resale follows Amazon’s normal return option, and Outlet items follow the return terms shown on each listing, so check before you buy.
Is Amazon Haul cheaper than Amazon Outlet?
Usually per item, because Haul caps every product at $20 and most cost under $10, while Outlet sells discounted brand-name stock with no cap. But they are not selling the same things. Outlet is better when you want a specific branded product at a markdown, and Haul is better for a basket of inexpensive, mostly unbranded items you can wait two weeks for.
Do Prime members get anything extra on Haul, Woot or Resale?
On Haul, no: Amazon’s help page says Haul orders are not Prime-eligible, so members and non-members follow the same $25 free-shipping rule. On Woot, Prime members get free standard shipping when they log in with Amazon. Resale items carry the same delivery promises as other Amazon items, which Kiplinger says is typically two days for Prime members.
